Encouraging Worship and Reflection for Today – Your Glory, All Sons and Daughters

Being a pastor can be the most wonderful and privileged job in the world.  We get to preach God’s Word and help other along in the relationship with the Lord like one of the family.  We are invited into some of the most personal moments in people’s lives and get to celebrate as brothers with the family of God in ways that are really cool.

But it also can be really hard and painful.  Like you feel like you have been kicked in the teeth painful.  Why?  The same reason as the good, you get to experience some of the most personal moments of people’s lives like family and get to walk with people as they go through battles, great loss and trials…in ways that are really cool.

It is still a wonderful and privileged job, it can just be hard.  It becomes particularly difficult when that thing we like to call “self” intrudes in and makes service of the Most High God all about “this guy”, you know me.

The flesh makes serving God harder and Satan does not want us serving God well so he is all about stoking that flesh – I know it is not exactly a groundbreaking revelation but it makes it no less true and no less important to understand if we seek to serve Him.

We all have plans and hopes for the work that we do in this world for Jesus and pastor’s are certainly no exception.  There are days where our plans and Jesus’ plans conflict.  There are some days that this goes over well, Jesus’ plan is always better and some where well lets just say I struggle with me wanting my plan which I think is the bestest.  I want, I want, I want….I know it is not pretty but I would wager I am not the only one who has bad days.

Today was one of those days.  Just feeling off from the moment I woke up onward with worry, fret and well my flesh rebelling against the clear Word of the Lord.  I was praying and listening to worship music and came across this song from All Sons and Daughters that felt like an awesome reminder directly from our Lord.

It just put things into perspective for me – usually what I am struggling with is perspective.  I was at the gym as this was going on exercising and trying not to cry and raise my hands in praise as I was listening.

Thank you Jesus, you are so good….cause you made this sinner Holy!

Here are the lyrics.

My life is Yours
My hope is in You only
And my heart You hold
‘Cause You made this sinner holy
Holy holy

‘Cause Your glory is so beautiful
I fall onto my knees in awe
And the heartbeat of my life
Is to worship in Your light
‘Cause Your glory is so beautiful
‘Cause Your glory is so beautiful

And my life is Yours
And my hope is in You only
And my heart You hold
‘Cause You made this sinner holy
Holy holy

‘Cause Your glory is so beautiful
I fall onto my knees in awe
And the heartbeat of my life
Is to worship in Your light
‘Cause Your glory is so beautiful
‘Cause Your glory is so beautiful

Glory glory
Hallelujah
Jesus You are good
[x3]

We sing
Glory glory
Hallelujah
Jesus You are good

‘Cause Your glory is so beautiful
I fall onto my knees in awe
And the heartbeat of my life
Is to worship in Your light
‘Cause Your glory is so beautiful
Your glory is so beautiful
