Following Our Master’s Orders
Jesus is very clear when He gave the disciples their orders at the end of the Gospel of Matthew. Go, make disciples, teach, and baptize are straightforward directions from Jesus. They are called the Great Commission for a reason. They are direct commands from the King to you, His servant. Are you following them? Evangelism is Not Optional
The Great Commission should not be examined by itself, though. It comes right after 27 chapters filled with examples of the love and grace of Jesus. It is directly linked to the character and call of Jesus to you. You must understand what Jesus already did for you in order for the Great Commission to be meaningful in your life. It is by grace you are a saved motivated by God’s love, the Great Commission is fueled by the these.
