Pornography is not a disease. It is not something you catch or something that afflicts us. It may bring about a physiological response but is not caused by physical issues.
It is just sin. It is a tangible expression of an unseen problem with our hearts.
It is the same story that is as old as man. Temptation comes before a man. There is an opportunity for choice: Sin or no sin? Then the decision is ours, always ours. We too often choose sin.
That is bad news – this sin is our choice. No one is forcing people to watch pornography. It is our free will decision and therefore our responsibility. We won’t get out from under it unless we start with this truth.
This is also good news – sin is our choice. Where God gives us freedom to choose between sin and no sin He always gives us the power to turn away. He provides a way of escape.

Sin may be pleasurable for a season but it is fleeting and ultimately leads to death.

Freedom in Christ is an awesome and wonderful thing. It also means great responsibility as a Christian.
We are free to choose life or death, joy or heartache, righteousness or sin…we make these choices a thousand times every day.
We can admit that we make the wrong choice without fear and without shame because we have a great Savior Jesus who cleanses us from all sin and helps us to turn away from it. But if we say we have no sin when God sees exactly what we are doing?
But what happens if we say we have no sin when God sees exactly what we are doing?
The Word puts it so simply, right? If we confess what God already knows then He cleanses us, If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
Which are we going to choose today?
