Blogger Recognition Award – A Belated Thank You!

Blogger Recognition Award

So I am way late on this but it does not reflect a lack of gratitude.  With a house filled with kids and two jobs, sometimes the order to getting to things gets thrown out of whack.  Thank you to the lovely Gail of Gail Loves God for the nomination.  I do greatly appreciate it.  I love the heart for the Lord that Gail displays in her blog.  Just read a portion of her “About Me” section:

As it says under my name… it’s not about me. It’s all about my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Having said that I realize what it is like to go to someone’s about page to make sure who you are talking with, especially if they are following you or you choose to follow their posts, and find no info.
I’m in my 40s, live in North Carolina of the United States, and love the Lord more than anything.

Her sweet encouragement of other Christian bloggers is just wonderful to watch as well.

Give a brief story of how your blog started:

This blog started from my experience just talking with people.  I honestly love people.  I really enjoy talking with individuals from all backgrounds and trying to help them get closer to Jesus.  In doing so, I found there are so many people in this world who are desperately looking for the answer to contentment and joy in life.  They know that there is something wrong in their life, they are discontent and are searching for something more.  I can relate.  This was where I was at not too long ago..until Jesus changed everything.

Even in the church, there are so many believers who are not living with the peace that surpasses understanding and true joy of the Lord.  They may be living on the fence between Jesus and the world.  They may be stuck in dead religion or empty tradition.  They are unbelievably unsatisfied and they don’t understand why.  I lived this too so again I can relate.

God’s direction for me since I was brought to new life in Him is to simply tell others what He did in any way possible.  To try to help others get “unstuck” as we call it.  It is when people know what they want and even can know what the right thing to do is, they just feel stuck in their current swamp of life.  One day He showed me that there are millions who read the internet that I would never meet in person.  He said to go forth and make disciples on the internet, so here I am.

Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers:

1.  Don’t try to be anyone else.  Jesus wants to use you for His Kingdom and has uniquely prepared you for this assignment.  Find your voice and go with it. I wrote a blog post about this Don’t Wear Another Man’s Armor – God Chose You!

2.  Praise Jesus.  This is an obvious one.  But much like in life, it is easy to get distracted with the things of the world.  If you are a Christian blogger, don’t lose sight of the purpose of life and the One that we serve.
