Faith: Loving What Jesus Loves

Isaac’s Faith Redeems a Life

Isaac is one of the least outwardly impressive of the Patriarchs. His dad Abraham is a man of amazing faith and achievement. His covenant defines the role of Nations for centuries. Isaac’s son, Jacob, is another larger than life figure. He wrestles with God. His name is born by Israel to this day. Isaac comes between these two men. He just doesn’t stand out like they do. He is less mentioned and much of his time is related to his dad and son. He is offered by Abraham and tricked by Jacob.

Yet, God puts Isaac in the Hall of Faith of Hebrews 11. Why is that?

Isaac may have made mistakes in his life. He may not be as accomplished as his relatives. Yet, when it came down to it, Isaac’s faith leads him to bless what God wants blessed. Isaac chooses to love what God loves, even when it goes against his own preferences.

This is the faith God rewards!
