What does the Bible say about Heaven?
Christianity is not ultimately about today. Yes, you are saved on earth. You live out your life in joy and obedience to the Lord here. You work for the Kingdom of God during your life on earth. Yet, the material world you live in is not your home. Your citizenship is transferred at the moment of your salvation. You are no longer defined by the nations of your birth. You are now all about the country of our rebirth – Heaven.
Heaven is where you will spend eternity. So what do you know about heaven? It is not sitting on a cloud strumming a harp. Peter does not stand at the gate. It will certainly not be boring.
Did you know there will be no sun or moon in heaven?
The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. Revelation 21:23
The glory of God will light up every moment of the day. Wow!
Did you know heaven will not always be above us? It will descend onto the new earth and remain there for eternity?
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. Revelation 21:1-2
It is amazing to think about. What will heaven be like? It is a huge question.

1) John 3:16
