Sermon Series: Matthew 5:5-6 – Blessed are the Meek

The Beatitudes – Our Attitudes for Life

Blessed are the Meek and those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. Meek does not mean weak or timid. Jesus commands God’s Army of Angels and Moses was a mighty man of God. Both are described as meek in the Bible. The word means power under control or in submission, in this case to God. It is used to describe a great horse that has been trained to follow a masters commands. Our great works for God can only happen when we stop relying upon our own strength and submit everything we have to God.

Jesus is King!
